Michelle Fregeau began her career in Chicago, IL. She attended Cameo academy school of Cosmetology. She has been in the industry for over 21 years, 9 of those years being a stylist and Salon Owner. Michelle doesn't just “cut hair” she designs a look for each one of her clients. With all her years of experience behind her she has a great talent for formulating colors and styles that fit a clients lifestyle and who want a natural look.
She is proud of how her Salon has grown the past 9 years and how she has made a “team based salon” work so well. “Being team based our entire staff can focus on clients and they love the fact that the entire salon cares about them and their well being in many ways.” When Michelle isn't tending to her clients you will find her focusing on the business and management side of her salon. When she does have free time she enjoys spending it with her new Grandson Ryan James or traveling places where she can go scuba diving and relax.
Jessica has been our Salon Administrator for the past 4 years. She is an important part of our team, not only as our Salon Administrator, but also as our Graphic Designer. She designs all of our stationary, ads, logos, and signs.
Jessica is a perfect fit to the Designers Team, with her creativity and organizational skills. “I enjoy the variety of work I get to experience, form the designing aspect to orders and inventory.”
In her spare time, Jessica loves scrapbooking, making wedding/party invitations, decorating and her newest business venture –bellabands, flowered headbands & accessories for girls. She also loves spending time with her husband and two kids!.
As the newest member of our front desk team, Brett, is a North Dakota State University student. She is working towards a major in psychology and a minor in child development/family science. Her future plans involve going into a field where she can help families and kids get back on track and have a great future.
At Designers, Brett is a friendly face for clients when they first walk in, she is a good multi-tasker and has exceptional customer service. “I enjoy meeting new people, staying busy and working with the Designers' staff. Every day is different.”
In her spare time, Brett enjoys fishing and spending time with her family and friends. She also likes to watch movies and sports (especially the Vikings & Twins) and playing with her dog, Lola.
After graduating from the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis in 2002, Terri found her ideal fit at Designers. With 8 years of industry experience behind her, Terri has a lot to offer to both clients and co-workers.
Terri has experienced many advanced education opportunities, from the recent 2010 Master Jam to 2008’s Fashion Week in New York. In doing so, she is always able to show her talent and expertise to many of today’s top designers. Terri specializes in coloring and cutting, but has a talent in nail and waxing services as well.
“I like meeting new people and growing a relationship with clients. I love to challenge myself everyday to learn new things and exceed clients’ expectations.” Terri loves working in her garden and spending time with her fiancé Adam and her family in her spare time. She also enjoys fishing and playing with her two beautiful dogs, Bella and Buddy.
We are very excited that Joni has recently come on board, as an experienced stylist she brings knowledge, passion and fun to our team. Joni is a graduate of the Model College of Hair Design in 1985. Joni has a strong passion for the hair industry and a genuine care for each client. She is very excited to step back into the salon industry, after taking time off to raise her children. It is also very exciting for her to learn the Aveda product line, as well as their cutting edge education.
Audrey completed her schooling at Scot Lewis Cosmetology in 2001. We are very happy to have her join our team here at Designers Salonspa. Audrey has taken extra classes in foiling techniques and color corrections. She has ten plus years of experience in the industry.
Audrey enjoys, “meeting new people and helping people to love their hair.” Audrey specializes in foils, colors, cuts and pedicure services.
In Audrey’s free time she loves to be outdoors camping, fishing and gardening. She also enjoys reading and knitting.
Laurie originally received her cosmetology license from Cameo School of Cosmetology in Chicago, Il. She recently renewed her license at Cambridge Beauty School and has been working here at Designers for the last year. We really enjoy her fun and energetic personality; she is always very friendly and personable!
She has completed many specialized training classes in: Aveda product knowledge, Aveda Color Systems, 2010 Spring Trends and 6 cutting classes with Aveda Master Stylist. Laurie really enjoys the opportunity to meet and get to know people in the community, “I learn something new everyday from my clients.” Laurie has many talents including cut, color, manicures and pedicures.
When she isn’t working Laurie likes to jog, paint and golf with her husband and son.
Mel is a recent graduate of Regency Beauty Institute, and the newest edition to our stylist team. She is a great asset, although new to the industry her skill level is extremely advanced. She has great strengths in communication and listening to provide exceptional client services.
There isn’t a service that Mel doesn’t enjoy doing. She also enjoys making people happy and feel better about themselves. “I like meeting new people and providing services to them. I enjoy the environment and the friendly co-workers at Designers.”
In her spare time Mel enjoys snowboarding and hanging out with friends and family. She also likes attending sporting events, going out to eat and going to hair shows.
In 1995, Denise completed her 13 months of training at Minneapolis School of Massage and Bodywork. She has taken many classes since to keep herself up to date on the latest techniques including Reflexology, Myofascial Release, Lymphatic Massage, Sports massage, Aromatherapy and Herbal Therapy. Her strengths include deep tissue work, fibromyalgia work & herbal and aromatherapies.
Being in the industry for 14 years she still enjoys helping people feel good and getting the results they are looking for though a good massage. “My goal is to help people live happier, more productive lives by giving them a stress relieving massage, deep tissue work or just to relax.”
When Denise isn’t helping other people relax she likes to unwind painting murals, traveling with her husband and working outdoors..
We are extremely excited to introduce Joy; she is a graduate of the Aveda Esthetic Program. Joy completed her education with Aveda receiving a 4.0 gpa. She completed her state board license and has been in the industry for 2 years now. Joy has attended make-up classes with one of Aveda’s elite artists, Rudy Miles and training with Mariam Hannow, a top Esthetician specialist.
Joy is extremely enthusiastic and passionate about the industry and is a firm believer in health, beauty and wellness. “I take pride in every service I offer, and especially enjoy make-up.” Joy’s favorite part of her career is promoting relaxation and stress relief, educating clients and setting up skin care regiments. Here at Designers Joy offers facials, customized treatments for all skin types, eye zone treatments, full body waxing, plant peels and make-up for occasions.
In her free time Joy enjoys painting, arts and crafts, biking, working out and engaging in activities with her children.
Joy is the newest member of our Front Desk Team. She is currently a senior at Trio Wolf Creek School. After graduating Joy would like to attend a cosmetology school to work towards her goal of becoming a cosmetologist.
At Designers Joy likes to meet new people. She says, “The environment is super friendly and everyone is amazing”. At the front desk joy is very good at multi-tasking and she loves to interact with the clients.
In Joy’s free time she likes to play guitar, hang out with friends and go shopping.
Joining our front desk team, Kelly, is a recent graduate from the Lakes Region EMS-Basic Training Program. With this accomplishment she would like to attend the Hennepin County Medical Center Paramedic Program.
Kelly has shown us that she loves to clean around the salon! She also loves to organize and keep things neat and orderly. Kelly's favorite part about designers is that everyone around her has a great personality, "I enjoy the environment here at Designers and meeting other people."
In Kelly's spare time she likes to play rugby, she used to play for North Dakota State's girls rugby team. Kelly also loves to spend time with all the different animals on her farm, doing art and being with her friends and family.
